(Obviously, not all at once.)

Shoulda coulda woulda

25 Sep

The thought has recently occurred to me that if I had only started blogging (and consistently so) since the start of our marriage 4 years ago, we’d probably have a fully monetized blog right now. Not to mention how nice it would have been to have a record of all of our shenanigans over the years. Who knew that if you blogged about home improvement projects and design inspiration that you could actually earn money? Yes, there are more than a few things that the 2010-me would like to go back and tell the 2006-me.

But something tells me we’re better off without?

Reminiscing mobility

18 Sep

In the immortal words of King Curtis “I’m comin’ to the edge.” In fact, I’m quite certain that I could not feel any more rotund. The pregnancy waddle is a REAL and disturbing phenomenon. Trust me, it can’t be good when just trying on your MATERNITY pants sends you into a franticly claustrophobic, oh-my-gawd-I’m-going-to-have-to-cut-myself-out-of-these, tizzy. My darling, growing child has now relegated me to one, count that ONE pair of pants I can comfortably breathe in. Tops and t-shirts are now down to the dirty half-dozen, or less. I’ve tried scrounging around in my husband’s closet for anything that will fit over the bump, only, he likes his tees tighter than tight. Uggh! XL never sounded so appealing. But don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining, more like stating facts. Besides, who really cares if I look like a hobo for the next 2-3 weeks. (Or 5. Worst. Case. Scenario.) Our little boy will be here soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, that deserves a lot of exclamation points. Perhaps when my body settles itself back down I will one day wear clothing like this again, maybe with a few burp cloths strewn across the shoulder.

These hair accessories from Whippy Cake are cute. I wonder if I could make something similar myself.

2011 Moleskine Daily Planner Set

11 Sep

How great is this 2011 Moleskine Color-a-Month Daily Planner Set???? I think I might have to order it. Or put it on my Amazon wishlist. Moleskin journals always make me think of my brother and I aspire to one day write in my notebooks as neatly as he writes in his.

Oh Baby

9 Sep

I can now say that I am no longer absolutely loving being pregnant. In fact, if we can make it just another 1.5 weeks to the officially “full term” point, I’d say baby can head on outta’ here, ASAP. It’s getting hard for me to breathe and I doubt baby Smeltz is loving being twisted up in a mess of knees and elbows. Soon, little boy. Soon. Your mommy has a gobload of things still left to check off her to-do list. (And no, those aren’t nursery related things.)

Mini House Tour

7 Sep

This is the main living area of our house, in all it’s technicolor overload. Yep, it really looks that bright in person. To see our house through the years, click here.

My Mokey…

7 Sep

…is such a sweet little boy. He comes home every night around 9pm for love and cuddles. Then he’s ready to go back out for a full night and day of adventures until we see him at 9pm the next night. He has quite a busy schedule and very rarely graces us with his presence during the day. I don’t know how I was even able to take these photos of him since he is always mysteriously absent during daylight hours. Actually, I remember now. It was during the Great Cold Winter of 2010 when he was spending most of his nights indoors. I noticed that on Thursdays and ONLY Thursdays, he didn’t seem to have any early morning plans. He “overslept” and I was able to catch him after 9am, hardly interested in moving from his cozy spot on the rug. (At this point, he was usually leaving the house by 6:30am, NO later.) I knew those lazy Thursday mornings of his were going to be a short lived miracle so I grabbed my camera for a few shots. He wasn’t one for looking at me or even holding still for .2 seconds. I think I had to take 50+ shots just to get these few.
